Newton is the owner of Precision Auto Works, LLC in Greenfield, and the Vice President of the Stockton Lake Party Cove Foundation Non-Profit Organization. On December 11th he herniated a disk at the L3/L4 Vertebrae which pinched off the nerves in his back, resulting in a loss of feeling and function below the waist. By the time he made it to the ER, by life flight, some feeling had returned but not all. He underwent two surgeries to relieve the pressure on the nerves. Currently as of writing this he cannot move his feet at all, and has limited movement of his legs. This prevents him from walking or standing on his own. These nerves also affect the ability of the bladder and bowels to function normally, which requires ongoing costs to mediate. After one week in the hospital, and three weeks in an inpatient physical rehabilitation facility, he is still having to fight in physical therapy to gain functions back, which could take up to two years according to the Doctors. This has also caused a dramatic loss of productivity at the shop and is threatening to take the business and his only source of income to live.
